Thankful Thursday

Ladybug is a very active, 14 1/2 month old toddler. Always moving, always curious, always into something.

And that makes for a tired Momma!

Thankfully, she is sleeping well most nights (still co-sleeping). And she is taking one nap a day, usually for at least an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less. But that nap is in bed without me.

I have been trying to use that quiet naptime for restful, relaxing activity for myself. Like blogging, reading, maybe even a nap for myself. Whatever I need that particular day.

But I am so very thankful for that hour of quiet.

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Oh, how I remember those days. I think you should really rest too when ladybug does.

    Great scripture for today.

    Blessings to you♥

  6. I am also thankful for naptime. I have to remind myself to use naptime as a time for myself most days rather than time to get work done. I need to relax too.

  10. I understand the need for rest. My "ladybug" is 14 1/2 months old, as well. She is so much fun. I guess I should really be thankful for naps. My Gracie still take a morning nap and an afternoon nap. Woo hoo. I will be VERY sad when she drops that morning nap.

  11. My oldest (the main character of my blog, My Daughter's Wedding) slept with us most nights until her little sister was born 4 years later. Even if she went to bed in her own bed, she'd come get in bed with us sometime during the night. I think this continued until she was about in 4th grade!! Little Sister did that sometimes also, but not nearly as much. I guess she realized we were running out of room!

  12. Your girl is such a sweetie! Loves her photo on your Wordless Wednesday. Thank God for giving you joy and strength to take care of her. She is a bundle of joy! Thank God for giving you quiet time too and you are able to be refreshed by various activities. Matthew 11:28-30 are so precious. Thanks for sharing with us. Take care and have a great weekends!

  13. Glad to know someone else is in the same boat! Esme is co-sleeping (we've gone back and forth without a lot of success elsewhere), and for the longest time that meant I had to be there while she napped; otherwise she might fall off the bed. So I've had lots of quiet time napping and reading, too!

Now I let her sleep by herself on the bed - with pillows on both sides of her. And she's fallen off twice in the past month - something I feel terrible about - but survived both. And it leaves me free to get a lot more done, but sometimes I miss the forced downtime.

Don't know what it is, but she won't sleep elsewhere . . .
