We are out of town for the week as my Hubby attends a week-long intensive class for his masters program. So Ladybug (15 mo) and I tagged along for a vacation of sorts. This is our first long trip since Ladybug was born, both in length of time away and distance.
Here are a few things that have worked for me on this trip:
~ Stay in a hotel with free wi-fi. I am blogging this week as a journal of our time away.
~ Bring diaper rash cream. Because your toddler who never gets diaper rash will get diaper rash while you are away from home.
~ White noise maker of some sort. We all sleep better with white noise, and most hotels have a "fan" switch on the heat/ac, but this hotel doesn't. I am SOOOO glad that I brought a baby toy that plays white noise!
~ Bathroom spray. I don't think I have to explain this one.
~ Tip your bellman and housekeeper well. They will take care of you if you take care of them!
~ Extra sippy cups. Because you inevitably will leave one in the car and not want to walk back down to get your one and only sippy cup.
I'm sure that I learn a few more things on this trip. Thanks for stopping by today!!

We are going to go on a trip this weekend and then at CHRISTmas. These are some great tips!
ReplyDeleteMy theory regarding travel with young children is that you will always forget something, no matter how much stuff you pack. The diaper rash cream just validates my claim!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you're all still having fun. Just don't mention Taco Bell again because my hungry tummy is grumbling now... :)
This is me, commenting. :-) Whenever we travel with W, we invariably forget something. It's usually the Tylenol - we don't use it that often, but since we forgot it, we need it!
ReplyDeleteAnother traveling tip that we've learned - don't forget the Tylenol! We always need it when we don't have it.
ReplyDeleteGood tips. Thanks for sharing them. Have a good time away.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at the extra sippy cup one!
ReplyDeleteWe have left so many things behind on our travels - often because I think husband took it to the car already, or he thinks I checked the room out thoroughly before we left. Sippy cups are definitely on that list of left behinds!
