Well, almost wordless. Ladybug accompanied Hubby and me to the polls yesterday. We arrived at 7 am and had an hour wait. I put Ladybug in the Mei Tai that I bought from Baby Love Slings, and she enjoyed checking out all the people.
By the time we reached the door, she had fallen asleep, so she missed watching me vote (the main thing a 17 month old would be interested in would have been the touch screen).
I think Ladybug enjoyed her first experience at the polls. We hope that she'll grow into a responsible citizen and always exercise her right to vote!

My 2 month old also accompanied me to the polls and fortunately we had NO wait. :)

Maybe it's a good thing she fell asleep while you voted...those touch screens might have been too tempting!
ReplyDeleteWhat good little citizens to wait for an hour in what looks like some chilly weather! You can tell LB someday that she was present for a historic event. Whatever the outcome of the next 4 years, it was a historic day none-the-less.
ReplyDeletesounds like a plan!
ReplyDeleteLooks like she has a good role model. I'm sure she will follow in your foot steps.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! You are a strong woman to hold her like that for an hour!
ReplyDeleteSend me this pic...what a great picture!
ReplyDeleteLove ya...
glad we could chat last night....
Denni said hi
I have always taken my girls to vote and their were a few times when someone was either asleep on my back or in a baby sling!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great experience for both of you....even if she did fall asleep.......you'll always remember her first poll for her. :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you have her on your back? I know you said a sling-type thing, but I'm wondering how large the child can be in one. See, my son is the same age as your daughter but he's 32ish pounds. I'd love to carry him around like that, but I'm afraid he'll be too big for something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little girl you have! So cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy wW!
No wait here. We live across the street from a polling center. It took no time at all.
ReplyDeleteLot's of people put the "I Voted" sticker in the baby book. So, you and your child will remember this historic day.
ReplyDeleteToo cute. She looks a lot like you. Whether you are happy with our President elect or not, being a part of this vote this year was more important than ever. hehe
ReplyDeleteHappy Wordless Wednesday!
I took String Bean with me. We were lucky and had no wait! We went during the middle of the day which is probably why. She watched me dutifully fill out the ballot then put it in the little machine that sucks it in. She was most excited about the sticker she got!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing to think that our kids will grow up in a world where anyone can be prez? I'm so happy for our babies!
ReplyDeleteDavid loved voting yesterday, too.
Awww so sweet. :) My little man spent a while of our wait in my Mei Tai as well. Aren't they the best!? Cute picture.
ReplyDeleteHow great that she got to come with. I'm hoping to take The Bean next time. There was no way she could have waiting in line with me for the hour it took this time. I remember going with my parents and want her to have that memory too and understand the importance of it all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mom, setting a wonderful example!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
Cute picture! I love baby-carriers. They're so much more advanced now, and there are so many more options than when my boys were babies... I'm kinda jealous.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I wish my (almost 17 month old) would relax and fall asleep in a sling on my back. He is a bit crazy, so I too went at 7 but daddy stayed home with him so I could vote in peace! Maybe next year he'll be calm enough!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute. I was scared to take Shiloh to the polls with me (she would have been crazy) so I voted early on my lunch break.
