Welcome to my little corner of the interwebz! Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll keep this post short so that you have plenty of time to check out the other blogs participating in the Blog Hop '09. Let me introduce myself.
My name is Heather; I am a Christian wife and mom. I started blogging in September 2007 as a way to chronicle the wonderful things about our then 3 month old daughter. Hubby (creative nickname, huh?) and I have two daughters actually. Our first daughter, Susie, is in heaven with the Lord. And we have an adorable 2 year old, nicknamed Ladybug. Hubby and I lead worship together at our church.
This blog chronicles my journey as a wife and mom, as well as cute things that Ladybug is saying and doing. I share inspirational posts, my most recent was about dealing with change. I share the joys and struggles of parenting. Recently, I started a series on teaching Ladybug Bible memory verses.
I enjoy cooking and baking, and I also have a recipe blog. I don't post a lot there, as it is mainly my on-line cookbook. But feel free to check it out.
And I also love Twitter! Feel free to follow me there: I'm @notdiyheather.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to know a little bit about you too. Please leave me a comment and tell me about your favorite childhood toy or pet. I'll try to visit your bloggy home soon!

Hello, :) Looking forward to reading more of your blog. :) Found you through the blog hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I hopped on over! My favourite childhood toy was a paisley stuffed hippe named Hiccups. He met his demise when my dog Dusty (favourite childhood pet, by the way)decided to chew him up and leave stuffing all over the house while I was away at school.
ReplyDeleteIn 2007 I was blessed to see real hippos on a trip to build housing for Watoto Childcare in Uganda!
Stopping by via the Blog Hop. Nice to "meet" you.
ReplyDeleteSo very nice to 'meet' you, Heather! Love that the nickname for your daughter is 'Ladybug' - we love ladybugs around here! :)

ReplyDeletefavorite childhood pet... "blue", a blue-tick hound who was crazy. he was 'afraid' to walk on the wood floors, whch i guess were slippery to him. he would turn around and back down the hall, which was the length of the entire house! silly mutt! :)
Hi Heather! Glad we got a chance to chat during the party the other day, and looking forward to getting to know you better, too. I'll have to check out your other blogs soon...especially the recipe one (I like to cook and bake, too!) God bless!

Hey there Heather!! I've been following you for quite a while on Twitter and am a subscriber, too....but I just now learned about baby Susie. I cannot imagine how horribly difficult that has to have been to parent a child you never got to know....but aren't we blessed that we know that we will see our loved ones again in Heaven?! So nice to get to know you better!
ReplyDeleteFavorite childhood toy? Just one?! Hmm....I'll say my Mandy and Jenny dolls! They were my best buds for years!
Stopping by from the blog hop to say hello. I am following you on twitter as a49erfangirl. Hmmm favorite pet or toy... Well my favorite pet would be Sugar Bear which is the dog I have now. She is so calm and lovable and gentle with the kids. I couldn't ask for a better dog. Well ok I could ask her not to run on me so I have to chase her on foot for miles. LOL Husky in her. My favorite toy... trying to remember what that was... I thin kit was my walking doll.
ReplyDeleteHi! It is so great to meet you through the Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI collected frogs as a child - ornamental, stuffed, and as a teen even a couple live ones. All I remember is frogs, frogs, frogs. (I even wanted to get a frog tattoo - thank heavens I never had the guts to do it!)
