There are lots of different tutorials out there; this isn't one. I just wanted to show off some good pictures from my dinky point-and-shoot camera and our beautiful eggs.
First, prepping to boil yellow onion skins.

There are lots of different methods. You have to experiment to figure out what products and methods work best for you. In this picture, we wrapped raw eggs in beet greens and boiled them.
We boiled the beets for our pink dye.
And here are our finished eggs! Aren't they gorgeous?
Orangish-yellow is from the yellow onion skins. Pink is from the cooked beets. Bluish-gray is from grape juice. The pale green is from the beet greens.Who knew that dyeing eggs could be so exciting? Ladybug and I had a fun morning, making memories with my sister-in-law, my mom, and my nieces.

ReplyDeleteThose look great! Glad you had so much fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I especially like the orange. These natural dyes give them an antique-ish or classic look I think. Wow!
ReplyDeleteWow. That is a really fun way to dye eggs. I love it. We haven't done it yet. I keep meaning too. If I know me, I will probably do it a week after Easter... : ). So glad you could make all of those special memories. What a wonderful post!
