Ladybug "graduated" from Mom's Morning Out. I've always been one to think that we celebrate graduating from one thing to another all too often. MMO graduation, preschool graduation, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, finally high school. It's a bit much in my opinion. But Ladybug and her friends were VERY cute in their little robes this week. (Ladybug is in the middle of the trio, with the pink shoes.)
And proud Mama and Daddy with Ladybug.

We also received our first delivery from our CSA (community supported agriculture). Oh my. I am in love with fresh produce. We got: cucumbers, corn, strawberries, peas, a cantaloupe, peaches, yellow squash, beets, new red potatoes and yellow onions.

For dinner last night, I roasted potatoes, onions, squash and beets. Yum! I'm not a huge fan of beets, but one of my goals with the CSA is to try everything. (Hubby loves beets, so I don't have to worry about them going bad.) I'm looking forward to the new produce this year!

Heather, Hule Goddard used to call stuff like this "good" rites of passages.
ReplyDeleteHe said if we go with culture, then we get licenses at 16 and drink at 21....
I'm not saying we haven't "over done" it, but we have to find things that are positive to celebrate with our kiddos...
That's why at 13, he would take his daughter on a trip of her choice and I think that's when she got her ears pierced.... (I'm pretty sure he said one of the trips was a Broadway musical/NY trip).
Denni and I were talking last week about the need for good rites of passages...anyway, my 1.5 cents... not even worth 2 in this economy.
love ya.

All that produce looks great!
ReplyDeleteLadybug is still a doll, of course. I totally agree about the excessive graduations. Zaya had his "Kindergarten Graduation" last week, complete with hats and tassels. I paid $8 for my 6 yr old to wear a blue mortar board that will probably take up space in my house and never be used again. Hmmm. I wonder if Mim can wear it for the same event next year...
We don't have all those graduations around here. Just 8th grade and high school.
ReplyDeleteYour CSA produce is beautiful! Wish I could find a CSA around here...
Who is Hule Goddard? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that all the "graduations" and such is excessive, but I'll reserve giving my diatribe about that for my own blog. ;) For the record, LB is adorable in almost ANY situation!
Your produce looks fantastic! I'm so looking forward to more of our crops maturing. We had our first zucchini and yellow squash the other night, and oh my! You just can't beat that fresh-out-of-the-ground goodness!
Adorable! I love her pink shoes, and I know she was so proud. :)
ReplyDeleteI love our CSA. Isn't it wonderful?
Congratulations to your LadyBug!! And your delivery looks delicious!! All the colors - so pretty!!
