I gave myself a bit of a break this week. I treated myself to an iced mocha on Saturday and took a break from food journaling. I did watch my portions and I was still active. Time to get back to business!
Here's the week in review.
Exercise: Cardio 6 days out of 7. I am alternating between the elliptical trainer and exercise bike for now. The mornings are hot and humid, and I really don't like exercising outside when it's like that. So I'm keeping my workouts inside, if I can. I did mow the yard on Sunday, and I totally count that as exercise. And I turned off the power push for half the time so I got some upper body workout as well. (Hubby loves it that I'll mow the yard now. If I count it as my workout, I don't mind at all!)
Food: As I said, I took a break over the weekend from writing down everything that I ate. Just for the weekend. I did my weigh in on Saturday but also checked my weight Monday morning and I maintained over the weekend, so I feel good about taking that break. I still ate good foods, kept processed foods to a minimum, and watched portions. But time to get back at it!
I am loving the grill right now, especially for grilling veggies. Yum! Here is our healthy menu plan for the week.
The Scale: No loss, no gain for the week. It was the Week of the Visiting Relative (WoVR) so I'm not worried about that. (Y'all know what I mean by "visiting relative," don't you? The dreaded one.) I've lost 20 lbs in 25 weeks and am very happy with that! And the scale isn't the only indicator of how I'm doing. My clothes are looser, and clothes that I couldn't wear a few months ago fit now. That's a great feeling!
This week, I'm focusing on writing down everything I eat, cardio 5 days out of 7, and 10,000 steps every day. Every day! Feel free to tweet at me and ask me how my steps are. I need the accountability in that!
One more thing. I was at a tweet up on Friday and the other bloggers were so impressed the Mamavation campaign and the Sistahood. Y'all ROCK! And you are known for your mutual support and encouragement! Yay for the Sistahood!!

Heather you're doing so great! Hats off to you girl!
ReplyDeleteGood job girl. Now can you journal my food for me too? I stink at it! :)
ReplyDeleteYou've lost 20 pounds in 25 weeks!! I'm so proud of you. That's really amazing. You know that, right? Iced mocha sounds good...mmmm
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to know you can deviate from your program and not mess up your progress. This will serve you well for the day when you wean yourself and are only in maintenance mode. I think that you are really cool for telling your tweetup friends about us. Have a great week, happy summer!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Heather!! YOU are inspiring!
ReplyDeleteHeather you are doing so great. You know they say we need to shock our systems every once in a while so maybe you taking the weekend break will do alot of good as well! I can not tell you enough how inspirational you are!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing it all wrong! You're supposed to have way off days! I'm just kidding, you are doing such a fab job!It really sounds like you've got this down! I'm so proud of you!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Heather!! I myself love Summer for that reason grilled Veggies Yummo!! 20 lbs in 25 weeks is so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your doing great! I hear ya on the heat, I live in Alabama and it's HARD to do anything that involves being outside.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great...and sometimes giving yourself those little breaks in either food/exercise help you get a nice loss the following couple weeks.
ReplyDeleteYOu are rocking the fitness, girlfriend!! I think mowing is an all around cardio/strength workout!! Plus you get to multitask at its finest (workout while accomplishing housework). :P Keep up the great work!!
ReplyDeleteyou are so inspiring! Every time I read your post I think to myself "I know I can do this!"
ReplyDeleteKeep it up - you are doing fabulous!
I like that idea of having people tweet at you to ask you your steps....but have you considered the opposite? You being in charge of asking people about their steps? Making you a step mentor might keep you on par even more. Think about it and let me know. XXOO
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the maintaining and everyone needs a break once in a while. You're a lucky one that can maintain through that! I was also chatting it up about the Sistahood the other day to some friends and they are supposed to check it out.
ReplyDeleteHope to chat it up with you!
@lovelyritaann
I have taken too long of a break. Let's rock this business out!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are kicking it. I love that you were able to take a break and it didn't hurt you. I'm so proud of you. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of a break...leaving some of the structure out, but still eating healthy and smart. You're so amazing with your steps! I envy your tweets about them!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great how well you did when you took a break. Way to go! And I think mowing the yard is more of a workout than an actual workout!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on the steps! Mowing is definitely a work out! I'm sure the husband just sits inside in the cool air and watches, huh? :) Good week!
ReplyDeleteHeather, you are a ROCK STAR and such a very good example of what consistency and hard work can accomplish. Love ya!
