It was a good week, not stellar, just good. Here's my recap.
Exercise: Cardio 6 days out of 7. I'm training for my first 5k, so I'm running three days a week. I'm up to 6 min run/1 min walk. I'm feeling strong in my running and I'm really enjoying it. Don't get me wrong. It's still challenging, but I really do enjoy running! On alternate days I did a combination of Pilates, the Walk & Tone workout (see my review & giveaway!), or a power walk.
Thanks for all of your input last week regarding running within my neighborhood or running out on the road. Because sunrise is getting later, I've decided to stay within our neighborhood until I can get more reflective running gear. Need to stay safe!
Food: For the most part, it was a good week of eating. I did allow myself a few cookies as Aunt Flo made her presence known. I love SparkPeople's new summary calendar feature. I challenged myself to get a gold star every day meeting my minimum calorie intake. I got a gold star 6 days out of 7! I also started to measure my food again. Just making sure I don't fall back into the bad habit of portion distortion.
Here is our healthy menu plan for the week.
The Scale: I didn't go near the scale this week. With Aunt Flo, I know I've been super bloated, so I'm saving myself some grief.
A friend stopped me at church yesterday to say that she noticed that I've lost weight. It's nice to know that other people notice, but she was also checking to make sure nothing was wrong. I shared about the changes I've made in my eating habits and that I'm exercising and training for a 5k. It's so much fun to share that with friends!
Hope y'all had a good week! I'm looking forward to reading everyone's posts. Congrats to Janice (@fitcheerldr) for being chosen as Sista of the Week! (I'm using her 5k training plan and she is such an awesome encourager!!) Janice rocks!
Thanks for your support and encouragement!!

It's always fun when other people notice all the hard work your putting in to lose weight! Your doing something right!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the C25K! Your doing awesome! Keep it up!
Have a great week!
Isn't it nice when folks notice your weight loss? I love sparkpeople and I think it is a great tool. Sounds like your training is going really well!
ReplyDeleteRocking it Heather! As usual! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love when friends let you know that you look thinner! I always love a confidence booster! We all have those funk weeks, but knowing you, you will be blazing the trail again this week! have a good one!
ReplyDeleteI'm coming over for dinner on Salmon night! That sounds so tasty!
ReplyDelete6 and 1's! You are making progress every week! So happy! And glad you've decided to stay close to home until you get reflective gear. It's so important to stay safe on the roads.
We all have to get on the same schedule. You are with Lori...and mine was last week and it lasted for 8 days. We call it the animal that never dies around here. Everyone knows not to come within 10 feet of me. I get cranky and yell frequently. XXOO
ReplyDeleteWTG Heather!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you know when to step away from the scale. Sometimes I'll gain 5 pounds at that time of the month!
ReplyDeleteAlso, so nice when people notice, isn't it!? Makes all the hard work worth it. Going to check out Janice's 5K plan and also think about menu planning. I can't even fathom it, but maybe that will make me cook more fresh, whole foods. Thanks!
TOTALLY LOVE THAT! Portion Distortion!
ReplyDeleteHugs babe! I'm glad you had a good week! I look forward to "liking" to run. Haha, not today, but soon! :)

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the fact you are doing so much exercise. You are my hero, one day I want to be just like you :)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work! :)
That is so sweet that your friend at church wanted to make sure you were ok - what a doll! It sounds like you did great last week, way to go! I'm going to have to go check out that SparkPeople gold star thingy. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAunt Flo is evil with her need for cookie consumption! Although I would like to protest her arrival and her crazy cravings, I let her have her way and move on! Good luck this week.
